2024 Nissan Frontier vs. 2024 Hyundai Santa Cruz
Engine
The new 2024 Nissan Frontier lineup delivers one of the strongest performances from a midsize pickup truck currently available, making every trip around Merrill more commanding and also giving you the towing and payload ability you need to conquer the toughest jobs.
Every new Nissan Frontier model comes with a bold new 3.8-liter V6 engine that produces 310-horsepower and 281 pounds-feet of torque. The new Hyundai Santa Cruz lineup offers two engine options, but neither has the strength of the Frontier. The Santa Cruz lineup starts with the SE and SEL trim levels offering a standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 191-horsepower and 181 pounds-feet of torque. The Night, XRT, and Limited packages all have a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 281-horsepower and 311 pounds-feet of torque, but it will cost you more.
Performance
The new Nissan Frontier lineup comes with standard rear-wheel drive, compared to standard front-wheel drive in the Hyundai Santa Cruz lineup, providing you with propulsion from the back to help you maintain more strength. The Frontier lineup also has available four-wheel drive, compared to available all-wheel drive on the Santa Cruz lineup.
The new Nissan Frontier lineup offers higher towing capacities than the Hyundai Santa Cruz lineup, with towing capacities ranging from 6,180 to 6,690 pounds, compared to between 3,500 and 5,000 pounds on the Hyundai Santa Cruz.
Interior
When you choose a new Nissan Frontier model, you'll have more configurations to choose from. The Frontier is available in an extended cab model with two doors (King Cab) or a four-door cab (Crew Cab), with extended cab models offering seating for four passengers and Crew Cab models providing seating for five. The new Hyundai Santa Cruz models have seating for five passengers in all models, though seating for five is regarded as smaller than the Frontier.
Technology and Safety Features
Both the new Nissan Frontier and Hyundai Santa Cruz models come with a state-of-the-art infotainment system on an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both also have standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, helping you stay connected and allowing you to turn your truck into your mobile office as you drive to Stevens Point or across the country.
The Nissan Frontier lineup has many available driver assistance features, depending on which trim and package you choose, featuring standard forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking on all models. The Hyundai Santa Cruz has slightly more standard safety features, but offers forward collision mitigation.
